Don’t Bother DIY-ing Your Newborn Photos…Try This AI Instead

This blog post was authored by Aria L., mom to Lucas

As a budget-conscious DIY mom, I eagerly prepared for my son’s newborn photoshoots. I bought (and thrifted) a bunch of props, set up a cozy photo area, and even rigged some makeshift lighting. But every attempt seemed doomed and I barely got any good photos. Spit-ups, fussiness, and diaper disasters turned my carefully planned shoots into chaotic messes. I barely used any of the props I had collected. The adorable little moses basket I secured on Marketplace…is now re-listed on Facebook Marketplace never used by my son who has already outgrown it.

A friend then suggested trying Honeycomb’s AI for newborn photos. She’d used Honeycomb in the past for her baby photos and was really nudging me to give it a go. I was skeptical but decided to give it a try because it was cheap and frankly I got desperate for good baby photos. While my son dozed in my lap, I uploaded a few snapshots I’d taken on my phone. What happened next was…magical. The AI turned my cranky newborn boy into a calm angel baby in newborn photo styles I was never able to DIY. The results were astonishingly realistic and beautiful. Sure, there were a few less-than-perfect shots, but the gems I got were way beyond anything I could achieve on my own.

Since discovering the AI, I’ve abandoned my DIY photoshoots. Now that my little one is a few months older, I continue to explore different AI photoshoot styles, and each one has been a delightful success. I’m especially excited to use AI for his upcoming first birthday party—creating custom invitations and personalized party decorations…I even plan to create some beautiful wall art for his big boy toddler room. I’m planning on trying Honeycomb’s aviator themed photoshoot since my son is obsessed with airplanes.

For all the DIY moms out there desperate to get good newborn photos but who don’t want to spend on a professional shoot, don’t miss out on AI baby photos. While I love a good DIY project, newborn photography proved to be a real challenge, and AI has been a lifesaver.
